Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Lancers

The Clarion Area Bobcats defeated the homestanding General McLane Lancers 61-54 on Saturday (January 10th).

The Lancers led the Bobcats by one point, 16-15 after one period. The Cats had a 14-9 advantage in the second to take a 29-25 lead into halftime. With a 15-14 General McLane edge in the third, the team’s headed to the final stanza with Clarion holding a 43-40 edge. An 18-14 Bobcat edge in the fourth, set the final.

Three Bobcats scored in double-figures. Trey Hooks scored in every period, in leading the Bobcat scoring, with 22 points, which included a three-point bucket. Nathan Frederick followed with 14 points and Dylan Smail, who also scored in each period finished with eleven points.

Parker Miller had 8 points and Mason Burford finished with six.

Cohen Beachley led the Lancer’s scoring with fifteen points.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Cranberry on Wednesday (January 14th).
