Boys Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Berries

The Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a 54-50 decision to the homestanding Cranberry Berries, in their Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Boys Basketball game on Tuesday, January 6th.

The Bobcats held a 17-14 first period edge. With the Berries holding a 17-8 advantage in the second, the teams went to the locker rooms with Cranberry up 31-25.

A 12-6 Berries’ edge in the third, had them up 43-21.

Clarion posted 19 fourth quarter points to Cranberry’s 11 to set the final.

Three Bobcats Mason Burford led the Bobcats with 17 points, including a trey. Nathan Frederick, who hit two from beyond the arc, followed with 12 points and Dylan Smail finished with eleven.

Quinn O’Neal had 6 points and Parker Miller added four.

Blake Marchinke led the Berries with twenty-one points.

The Bobcats are scheduled to visit A-C Valley tomorrow (Thursday, January 8th).
