Former Clarion Area Bobcat Volleyball standout, Korrin Burns, who recently completed her illustrious career with the NCAA Division I Saint Francis University Red Flash, was presented with two very fitting awards during a break in the action of the Red Flash Men’s home match with the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, at De Gol Arena, on Wednesday, January 28th.
Korrin, an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Divison I All-American at Outside Hitter, who earned numerous accolades throughout her career, was presented with two “Golden Volleyballs,” in recognition of two All-Time Red Flash Women’s records she set this past season.
On Thursday, SFU Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Sara Spielvogel shared, “Last night, Korrin Burns was presented with two golden balls. One was for setting the women’s program record for career kills and the other was program record single-season kills!”
Coach Spielvogel had the honor of presenting Korrin with the “Golden Volleyball” for the Career Kills record, which now stands at 1,453.
SFU Director of Athletics Facilities and Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Game Administrator Michael Kosnosky had the honor of presenting Korrin with the “Golden Volleyball” for the Single Season Kills record, which Korrin established at 588.
There was major significance in choosing THIS SPECIFIC MATCH, for the presentation.
Coach Spielvogel shared, “So we presented Korrin two milestone balls in between sets 2 and 3 of our men’s volleyball team playing Hawaii on Wednesday Jan 28th!

“We wanted to honor her accomplishments once the season was over and thought that a high profile match vs the #3 team in the nation (Hawaii) was appropriate.”
Appropriate – I’d say Perfect.
(Congratulations to Korrin, her parents, Saint Francis Volleyball and the University on the whole!!!! Korrin, you make everyone “Clarion Proud” !!!!)
