Wildcats’ Jake Henry Places Fourth At Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Tournament, Several Others Post Wins

The Central Clarion Wildcat grapplers participated in the Ultimate Warrior Tournament held at West Branch High School on Friday and Saturday, January 23rd and 24th.

The Wildcats had one place winner, Jake Henry, who finished fifth at 189, sporting a 5-2 record.

Jake began with a with a victory by fall over Brogan Hoare from DuBois in 1:48, in Championship Round 1. He followed that with another win by fall in Championship Round 3, defeating River Valley’s Brady Koffman in 0:57.

Jake suffered his first loss of the tournment in the Championship Quarterfinals, in an 18-3 (6:00) technical fall to Keegan Hewitt from Hollidaysburg.

He came back with two wins, defeating Brayden Tagger from Bentworth, in a 7-0 decision. in Consolation Round 5, and coming away with a 4-1 decision over Johnsonburg’s Xavier Stockman in Consolation Round 6.

Jake dropped a 13-5 major decision to Emery Johnson from Reynolds, in the Consolation Semifinals.

Jake won the Fifth Place Match by forfeit.

Others picking up wins for the Wildcats include:

Grayson Aaron went 3-2 at 139. Grayson’s wins included a 15-0 (2:00) technical fall in Championship Round 2, a 4-2 decision in Consolation Round 3 and a pin in 0:16 in Consolation Round 4.

Wyatt Aaron finished with a 2-2 record at 127. Wyatt’s wins came in by fall (1:51) in Consolation Round 2 and an 8-1 decision in Consolation Round 3.

Dylan Albertine was 1-2 at 215. Dylan’s win win came by fall (4:01) in Consolation Round 2

Kord Stewart also recorded a win for the Central Clarion Varsity with a 21-13 major decision at 172.

Ultimate Warrior hosted a Junior Varsity tournament on Saturday. Marlon Lewis won the 189 Championship. There was a JV tournament on Saturday and Marlon Lewis won the 189 JV bracket.
