Wrestling: Wildcats Participate In Bison Duals

 The Central Clarion Wildcats participated in the very demanding Bison Duals at Clearfield High School on Saturday, April 17th.

Though they went 0-5, the young Wildcat team wrestled three of the Top 20 teams in Class AA as well as some much larger teams.

Central Clarion had seven wrestlers dent the win column, Wyatt Aaron at 133, Grayson Aaron at 139 and 145, Kullen Buzza at 145, Kord Stewart at 172, Jacob Henry and Ethan Rex who both wrestled at 189 and 215 and Dylan Albertine at 285.

Wyatt recorded three wins, with two pins (in 3:16 and 4:58) and a 17-3 major decision.

Grayson finished with four wins, with a 12-2 major decision and a forfeit win at 139 and a 22-8 major decision and 19-3 technical fall at 145.

Kullen recorded a forfeit win.

Kord recorded one win by fall in 5:27.

Jacob had recorded four wins, with three victories at 189, a pin in 4:34, a 14-12 decision and a win by forfeit, and a forfeit win at 215.

Ethan had four wins. He registered three wins at 189, a pin in 3:04 and a forfeit win, and had two forfeit wins at 215.

Dylan had two wins, both by pin at 1:36 and 2:27.

Wildcats’ head coach Braun Gourley shared, “We went 0-5 but it is a very difficult dual tournament.  We wrestled 3 top 20 teams in AA in the state.  Our wrestlers see where we want to take our program over the next few years. 

“Our goal is to keep improving so we can better compete with the top teams in the state.”
