Bobcats Move On To KSAC Boys Basketball Championship Game

The Clarion Area Bobcats have punched their ticket to tonight’s (Saturday, February 14th) KSAC Championship game by downing the Moniteau Warriors 66-24 in the semifinal on Friday.

The Bobcats led 42-5 at the half. Each team scored 8 points in the third and Clarion had a 16-11 advantage in the final stanza, to set the final.

Nathan Frederick and Trey Hooks led the Cats with 17 and 16 points respectively. Both had three buckets from beyond the arc.

Mason Burford also scored in double figures with ten. Dylan Smail scored 9 points Parker Miller had 5, Wyat Watterson 4, Hayden Weber 3 and Patrick Durish had two.

Dylan, Parker and Hayden each had a trey.

Moniteau was led by Weston Cook’s nine points, which included a three-pointer.

The #1 seeded Bobcats will face the #2 seeded Cranberry Berries, who defeated Brookville in their semifinal, in the Championship at 8:00 pm.

Clarion Area Head Coach Sam Heeter shared, “It was one of those nights where everything fell into place for us. The defensive effort was top notch, the offense was humming, and we were disciplined.”

The Girls Championship, between Clarion-Limestone and Karns City, will precede the Boys game, at 6:00 pm.
