Clarion County YMCA Riversharks

The Clarion County YMCA Riversharks sent Klayton Bell, Declan Kelley, Dylan Space, Kevin Young, Ashlyn Clark, Megan Fenske, Lila Gourley, Callie Snodgrass, Maggie Snodgrass, and Addyson Space to the 2026 Pennsylvania YMCA State Championships held March 20-22 at the Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virgina. 

These swimmers qualified for the competition by finishing among the top six individual finishers or top four relays from each YMCA swimming district along with selected next-fastest swimmers in each event across the state. 

Most of the meet was conducted in a preliminary/finals format for individual events with medals awarded to the top eight finishers.  Relay events, distance events, and all 10 & under events were conducted under a timed finals format with the top eight finishers across all heats earning medals.

Callie Snodgrass led the Riversharks by reaching the podium in all six of her events.  She earned three individual medals by winning the 100-yard backstroke, placing 3rd in the 100-yard butterfly, and placing 6th in the 200-yard butterfly. 

Maggie Snodgrass also reached the podium in all five of her events.  She earned two individual medals placing 6th in the 100-yard breaststroke and 6th in the 200-yard backstroke. 

Ashlyn Clark also earned five medals.  She earned two individual medals, placing 7th in the 50-yard freestyle and 8th in the 100-yard butterfly.

In addition, C. Snodgrass, M. Snodgrass, and Clark teamed up with Lila Gourley on three medal-winning relays.  The highlight was a victory in the 200-yard medley relay.  They also placed 2nd place in the 400-yard freestyle relay and 5th place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Kevin Young also reached the podium in three events.  The Riversharks distance and mid-distance freestyler placed 2nd in the 500-yard freestyle, 2nd in the 1650-yard freestyle, and 3rd in the 200-yard freestyle.

Addyson Space reached the podium in two events, earning a 4th place medal in the 50-yard breaststroke and an 8th place medal in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Callie Snodgrass, Maggie Snodgrass, Lila Gourley, and Ashlyn Clark will conclude their season representing the Clarion County YMCA at the 2026 YMCA Short Course National Swimming Championship to be held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina on Thursday through Sunday, April 30th through May 3rd.

BOYS 10 & UNDER

Klayton Bell: 100-yard breaststroke (1:32.31, 14th)

Dylan Space: 50-yard butterfly (36.66, 21st); 50-yard backstroke (37.08, 20th); 50-yard breaststroke (40.15, 18th); 100-yard breaststroke (1:27.06, 9th); 100-yard individual medley (1:21.43, 20th); 200-yard individual medley (2:50.60, 16th)

BOYS 11-12

Declan Kelley: 200-yard backstroke (2:38.26, 18th prelims)

BOYS 15 & UP

Kevin Young: 50-yard freestyle (22.59, 15th prelims); 200-yard freestyle (1:45.83, 3rd prelims; 1:45.69, 3rd finals); 500-yard freestyle (4:49.67, 2nd); 1650-yard freestyle (17:03.49, 2nd).

GIRLS 10 & UNDER

Addyson Space: 50-yard backstroke (36.43, 21st); 50-yard breaststroke (37.48, 4th); 100-yard breaststroke (1:26.04, 8th); 100-yard freestyle (1:07.82, 20th); 100-yard individual medley (1:17.43, 14th); 200-yard individual medley (2:15.70, 15th)

GIRLS 15 & UP

Ashlyn Clark: 100-yard butterfly (1:01.50, 8th prelims; 1:02.92, 8th finals); 50-yard freestyle (25.27, 8th prelims; 25.13, 7th finals); 100-yard freestyle (56.14, 15th prelims)

Megan Fenske: 100-yard backstroke (1:05.13, 19th prelims); 200-yard backstroke (2:18.97, 13th prelims)

Callie Snodgrass: 100-yard butterfly (59.93, 3rd prelims; 59.09, 3rd finals); 200-yard butterfly (2:16.67, 6th prelims; 2:17.38, 6th finals); 100-yard backstroke (59.13, 1st prelims; 58.00 1st finals).

Maggie Snodgrass: 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.56, 7th prelims; 1:07.75, 6th finals); 200-yard backstroke (2:17.27, 8th prelims; 2:17.22, 6th finals)

200 Free Relay: Clark, M. Snodgrass, Gourley, and C. Snodgrass (1:42.09, 5th place).

400 Free Relay: Gourley, C. Snodgrass, M. Snodgrass, and Clark (3:43.31, 2nd place).

200 Medley Relay: C. Snodgrass, M. Snodgrass, Clark, and Gourley (1:50.63, 1st place)
