Grayson Aaron And Jake Henry Finish Great Wildcat Wrestling Careers At Northwest Regional Wrestling Tournament

Two Central Clarion Wildcat Wrestlers saw their illustrious careers end at the Northwest Regional Wrestling Championships held at Sharon High School, this past weekend (Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th).

Both young men had four year varsity careers, the first during the last year under the Clarion Area Bobcat banner and the final three after the co-op became Central Clarion Wildcats.

Wildcat Wrestling head coach, Braun Gourley shared this recap and fine words about his two outstanding wrestlers.

“Grayson capped off a great high school career falling short of his ultimate goal of wrestling at the state tournament. He opened the tournament with a loss to the eventual 133 pound, champion and wrestled two tough matches on Saturday.

“He finished the tournament by going 1-2.”

“Jake finished the tournament with a 1-2 record at 189, with all the matches being highly contested. He opened the tournament with a last second escape in his first match to move into the semi finals where he lost a very close match 2-1.

“Although he lost in the consi semis to end his season Jake finished his career as one of the all time leaders in wins for the program.

“He is either second or third of all time.

“Jake and Grayson’s leadership and work ethic in the program will be missed. They are not easy guys to replace.”

(Congratulations on your remarkable careers Grayson and Jake!!!!)
