Baseball Roundup: Bobcats Down Gremlins And Beavers

The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the homestanding Karns City Gremlins 16-8, at Pullman Park in Butler on Wednesday (April 29th), and followed that up the following day, with another road victory, a 4-2 win over the DuBois Beavers at Showers Field.
KARNS CITY GAME
The Bobcats failed to score in the top of the first, with the Gremlins scoring on in the bottom of the inning. Clarion plated a pair of runs in the third for a 2-1 lead. Karns City failed to score in their half of the inning.
Four players crossed the plate for Clarion in the third, with KC not scoring and Clarion now led 6-1.
Three Bobcat runs in the top of the third and two by the Gremlins in their half, had Clarion up 9-3. Each team scored two runs in the fifth, with the Bobcats now on top 12-5.
Clarion failed to score in the top of the sixth, but KC had three runs in the bottom of the inning, cutting the Gremlins’ deficit to 12-8.
The Bobcats scored five runs in the seventh, while holding the Gremlins off the board to set the final.
Ethan Rex had 3 hits, including a triple, for the Cats, while scoring 3 runs and driving in two. Hayden Weber posted 3 hits, including a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI.
Carter Hindman had a single and pair of doubles, scored a pair of runs and and drove in three. Dylan Smail had a pair of singles and a triple, 1 run scored and two ribbys. Parker Miller contributed 3 hits, 3 RBIs and two runs scored.
Gabe Anderson registered 2 hits, 1 RBI and two runs scored. Evan Krieble singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored a pair of runs. Wyatt Watterson scored 2 runs and plated a runner.
Rex was the winning pitcher, going 4 innings, striking out 6 batters. Also seeing time on the mound were, Watterson, Miller and Kriebel.
DUBOIS GAME
Neither team scored in the first inning. DuBois failed to score in the top of the second, with the Bobcats scoring their first two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Bobcats scored their final two runs in the fourth, while holding the Beavers off the board the rest of the way, for the 4-2 Clarion victory.
Wyatt Watterson had a solo homerun for the Bobcats.
Billy Kahle had a pair of singles and an RBI.
Evan Kriebel singled and scored a run.

Hayden Weber, Ethan Rex and Carter Hindman each had 1 hit. Parker Miller and Gabe Anderson each crossed the plate.

Hindman started the game and went six innings, in picking up the win. He struck out 3 batters and walked three. He allowed six hits.
Parker Miller came on in the seventh and picked up the save. He gave up one hit.

Bryson Kail and Isaac Dennison scored the Beavers’ runs.
This was the eighth straight win for the Bobcats who now sit at 10-2 and 7-1 in the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference.
The Bobcats are scheduled to host the The Mercer Mustangs on Saturday (May 2nd) at Clarion County Park. Bobcat Senior Day will preceed the contest.
