Some Fine Performances For Wildcats In District Nine AA Track And Field Championships

The Central Clarion Wildcats participated in the District Nine Class AA Track and Field Championships at Brookville on Friday, May 15th, with a number of Wildcats turning in stellar performances, with several punching their ticket to the PIAA State Championships, to be held this Friday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 24th at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium.

The Central Clarion Boys finished second in the Team Standings behind Brookville, while the Wildcat Girls finished ninth. Elk County Catholic was the Girls Champion.

The first two in each event, along with others who meet State Qualifying Standards (time, height, distance) advance to States.

WILDCAT BOYS INDIVIDUAL PLACE FINISHERS

Brody Beggs earned his way to States in two events, finishing second in the 100 (10.97) and the 200 (22.46). Caleb Hunter captured fourth place in the 100 (11.14), his time earning a trip to States. He also finished seventh in the 200 (22.99).

Jackson Baker placed third in the 1600 (4:32.41) and eighth in the 800 (2:07.21).

Brady Guth finished third in the 800 (2:00.10).

Ryan Rinker took fourth in the 300 hurdles (42.85). Jonas Wilshire recorded a fifth in the 800 (2:04.18).

Nathan Frederick was sixth in the long jump (20′-7″), with Ryan Miles finishing eighth in the triple jump (38′-4″). Jackson Mranvintz finished ninth in the 400 (53.53), Chris Kim took ninth place in the 1600 (4:50.82) and Joshua Turner was ninth in the 3200 (10:40.00).

Charlie Hepfl finished eleventh in the javelin (138′-6″).

WILDCAT BOYS RELAYS

The Wildcats swept the three relays.

Mranvintz, Hunter, Beggs and Frederick combined to win the 4×100 (43.52).

Hunter, Guth, Frederick and Beggs won the 4×400 (3:25.86).

The Wildcats also won the 4×800 (8:14.25). The members were Baker, Brendan Bettwy, Wilshire and Guth.

WILDCAT GIRLS INDIVIDUAL PLACE FINISHERS

Adisen Jackson is heading to States after her second place finish in the 800 (2:24.09).

Hanna Love ran a great race to finished third in the 1600 (5:36.34) and sixth in the 800 (2:29.74).

Marley Kline was fourth in the long jump (16′-1″) and seventh in the high jump (4′-10″) and Liv McGinley finished sixth in the 400 (1:02.84).

Isabella Anthony took fourth place in the shot put (32′-3″) and sixth in the discus (96′-7″).

Julianna Schwabenbauer finished in a four-way tie for tenth in the high jump (4′-8″).

Emma Fitzsimmons was twelfth in the 300 hurdles (55.69) and Corinne Hepfl took fifteenth in the long jump (14′-0″).

WILDCAT RELAYS

Reise Jackson, Julianna Schwabenbauer, Love and Adisen Jackson combined to place third in the 4×800 (10:16.25).

The 4×400 (4:24.40) finished sixth. Running that relay were Madison Schill, Love, McGinley and Adisen Jackson.
