Lady Cats Down Karns City In KSAC Volleyball Opener, After Competing In Fort LeBouef Tournament Over The Weekend (09/08/16)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Volleyball Team opened their 2016 season, with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-13) home victory over the Lady Gremlins of Karns City, on Tuesday (September 6th).

Maya Miller had 14 points and a pair of digs, for Clarion. Alexis Constantino scored 13 points, six of them aces and also had six digs. Maya Thornton had 10 points, 11 kills and five digs, Olivia Burns had 14 kills, 9 digs and four points. Gloria Kroh had 23 assists and five digs.

The Clarion Junior Varsity won their match 2-0 (25-16, 25-18).

The match came on the heels of Clarion’s participation in the Fort LeBouef Tournament, on Saturday (September 3rd). The Lady Cats went 6-6 in the tournament. They won two from Fort LeBouef and one game each, over Altoona, Hickory, Northwestern and Warren.

Gloria Kroh had 22 points, 124 assists and eleven digs. Maya Thornton had 30 kills, 20 digs and twenty-five points. Olivia Burns had 16 ppoints, 66 kills, 11 assists and twelve digs, Alexis Constantino had nineteen digs, Sydney Kiser scored fifteen points and Dorothy Kalinowsky had eleven points.

The Lady Cats traveled to North Clarion, today (Thursday, September 8th).
