Basketball Roundup: Bobcats, Lady Cats Fall To Karns City

The Clarion Area Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball Teams played Karns City on Saturday (January 9th), with the Gremlins coming out in both contests.

BOYS

The Bobcat Boys fell to visiting Karns City 73-64. Clarion led 33-30 at the half. Karns City led 53-49 after three and with a 20-15 edge in the final stanza, the final was set.

Cal German led Clarion with a game-high 30 points. Christian Simko followed with 11 points and Beau Verdill added seven.netted a game-high 30 points for Clarion, while Christian Simko added 11 points and Beau Verdill seven.

Chase Beighley led the Gremlins with 25 points. Nate Waltman had 14 points and Luke Kramer finished with twelve.

GIRLS

The Lady Cats traveled to Karns City and dropped a 28-25 decision to the Lady Gremlins.

The game was tied 15-all at the half. Karns City had a 10-7 edge in the third, to head to the final stanza up 25-22. Each team scored three points in the fourth, to set the final.

Ava Cherico led the Lady Cats with ten points, including two treys. Erica Selfridge followed with nine points.

Emma Johnson led Karns City with fourteen points.
