Korrin Burns Named NEC Player Of The Week

Former Clarion Area standout Korrin Burns, a 5’ 10” senior Outside Hitter and Physical Therapy major, for the NCAA Division I Saint Francis Red Flash, a three-time Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association (PVCA) All-Stater (2019-2021) and member of the Clarion Area Bobcats’ 2020 and 2021 Class 1A Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Champions, has earned a major award.
Korrin garnered another major post-secondary honor to go along with the many she has collected during her stellar collegiate volleyball and academic career.

Korrin was named this past week’s North East Conference’s NEC/ Molten Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week, her fifth career Player of the Week Award.
Korrin, along with teammate, sophomore, Setter Alexandra Sappia, was also named a Prime Performer.
Joining Korrin in earning top awards were, NEC/Molten Defensive Player of the Week: Kyndal Ganoe, from Farleigh Dickinson University and NEC/Molten Rookie of the Week Alessia Zampieri, also from Farleigh Dickinson.
Korrin’s stats on the week include a .368 hitting percentage, 6.05 points per set, 5.91 kills per set and 2.73 digs per set.
She had 65 kills and just 16 miscues in a league-leading 133 attempts in three matches at the Rocket Invitational, held at Savage Arena in Toledo.
Korrin registered a double-double in a defeat 0-3 (21-25, 18-25. 26-28) loss to the host UAlbany Great Danes in the UAlbany Invitational at Albany.
She had 24 kills and 12 digs on Friday. She just missed another double-double, amassing 23 kills and 9 digs in a 3-1 win over Robert Morris on Saturday. This was the first win of the season, for the Red Flash.
In addition to Korrin’s kill and point total, she added 30 digs and a block during opening weekend.
On this first week of the 2025 NEC Women’s Volleyball season, Alexandra had 9.73 assists per set, 0.45 blocks per set and 0.45 service aces per set.
