The Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League announced their 2025 All-Stars on Thursday, October 30th.

Mark Bettwy shares this fine article:

Senior Dany Schweitzer was named UAVSL Co-MVP along with Kaden Sturgeon from Redbank Valley.

Dany led the Wildcats in scoring with 19 goals and 13 assists. Dany, who also kicks for the Wildcat football team, was a force with his exceptional footwork and the ability to score from anywhere on the field.

Dany plans on attending Westminster College and playing soccer for the Titans next year.

Martin Ormeno

Junior Martin Ormeno followed Dany in scoring with 17 goals and 3 assists. Martin, who fought shin splints all season, plays in the striker position for the Wildcats. Even so, he was able to consistently take advantage of defensive seams for through balls and crossing passes.

Martin is positioned to lead the Wildcat offense next season.

Brendan Bettwy

Senior Brendan Bettwy finished the year with 13 goals and 15 assists. While playing for Central Clarion, Brendan was known as a fierce competitor who refused to be outworked. His speed and footwork allowed him to regularly drive the ball deep into the left corner where he worked over defensemen before shooting or crossing the ball to Martin, Dany or any number of other pressing Wildcats.

Brendan hopes to continue his soccer career at the United States Coast Guard Academy.

Not to be forgotten, these All-Stars couldn’t have been as successful as they were without their teammates.

Along with the underclassmen, Seniors Nathan Frederick, Ky Clark, Quinn O’Neill, Samson Gao, and Wyatt Watterson all played important roles on the team. Each player contributed to the team’s successes throughout the season.

Dany and Brendan have played together for many years on the Clarion River Valley Strikers and Steel City FC traveling club teams. They were also joined on the all-star list by former Clarion River Valley Strikers and Steel City teammates Kaden Baumcratz, Noah Baumcratz and Logan Bish from North Clarion, Zoen Widenhofer from Keystone and Mason Bell from Karns City.

Congratulations All-Stars!
