Wildcats’ Ethan Rex Named To PFN 2025 Coaches Select 2A All-State Team

The Pennsylvania Football News (PFN) has announced their 2025 Coaches Select All-State Teams and Central Clarion Wildcats’ Ethan Rex has been selected to the 2A Team.

Ethan, a 5′-11″, 185lb junior, was selected to the Second Team as an Offensive Athlete, the second year in a row he was selected to the Second Team at Offensive Athlete.

Ethan put up some very solid numbers in 2025.

In eleven games played, he had 167 carries for 1,100 yards (6.6 yards per carry and 100 yards per game) and 15 touchdowns. Ethan had at least 100 yards rushing in seven of his eleven games.

Ethan also had 19 receptions for 284 yards (14.9 yards per catch) and 6 touchdowns.

In all, Ethan had 1,384 yards from scrimmage (125.8 yards per game).

Central Clarion head coach Dave Eggleton said, “Very proud of Ethan for making the All-State team for the second year in a row.

“This is a very well-deserved honor, and we’re excited to have him return and do even bigger things next year.”

Ethan was joined on the 2A Team by another local athlete. Karns City’s Hunter Scherer, who was named at Fullback on the First Team.

Farrell’s Juelz Johnson was named the 2A Player of the Year and Southern Columbia’s Jim Roth was selected as 2A Coach of the Year.

Eight area players were selected to the PFN Coaches Select 1A Team.

Getting First Team nods were Redbank Valley’s Jaxon Huffman at Wide Receiver, Union/A-C Valley’s Colbin Elliot at Offensive Tackle and three players from Keystone, Joey Spence at Long Snapper, James “LJ” Rankin at Outside Linebacker and Jacob Henry as a Defensive Athlete, and Brockway’s Ben Yale at Offensive Guard.

Second Team selectees from the local area include Keystone’s Dom Corcetti as an Offensive Athlete and Redbank Valley’s Braylon Wagner at Quarterback.

The Player of the Year for 1A is Matt Sieg from Fort Cherry, while Clairton’s Wayne Wade was named Coach of the Year.

The PFN Coaches Select 3A Team included three area players, all on the First Team.

Punxsutawney’s Beau Thomas was named at Tight End, while his teammate Owen Roken was named at Kicker. Cole Findley from Oil City was selected at Cornerback.

3A Player of the Year is Luka Neal from Avonworth, while his coach Duke Johncour was selected Coach of the Year.

DuBois’ Jaxson Hanzley was named to the PFN Coaches Select 5A First Team at Wide Receiver.

Roman Catholic’s Semaj Beals and Rick Pete were named Player of the Year and Coach of the Year respectively.

The PFN Coaches Select 6A Player of the Year is Joey O’Brien and the Coach of the Year is Brett Gordon, both from Lasalle College.
