Wildcats Down Rovers In D9 Wrestling League Clash

The Central Clarion Wildcats downed the homestanding Brockway Rovers, 49-21 in their District Nine Wrestling League encounter on Tuesday (January 13th).
The Wildcats led 5-4 in on mat wins, with three pins, a major decision and a decision.
Wyatt Aaron won his match at 1:33 with a pin over Channing Kline at 3:45.
Grayson Aaron won by fall in 0:33 over Cameryn Fremer in their 145 pound bout.
Ben Naser won by pin at 3:59 in the match at 160 over Knox Schenkle.
Picking up Central Clarion’s major decision victory, was Ethan Rex, as he downed Cash Butters 13-2 at 189.
215 pounder Jake Henry closed out the Wildcats’ scoring, with a 7-1 decision over Madox Decker.
Central Clarion head coach Braun Gourley had this to say, “Great effort from the entire team. We moved some guys around to get some better matchups.
“Ben Naser has been improving every match. He got a pin in the second period in a close match. That match really helped us pull away in the team score. Ethan Rex wrestled well at 189 and continues to get healthy. Jake Henry wrestled up at 215 against a state ranked opponent and came away with a dominating 7-1 victory.”
The Wildcats are scheduled to compete in the Bison Duals at Clearfield, on Saturday (January 17).
