Boys Basketball: Clarion Downs Cranberry
The Clarion Area Bobcats hosted the Cranberry Berries on Wednesday (January 16th) and came away with a 50-38 win. This is a reversal of the outcome of their game from last Tuesday (January 6th), won by the Berries 54-50.
The Bobcats had the scoring advantage in every period.
They finished the first period up 9-7 and followed that with a 16-13 edge in the second to lead 25-20 at halftime.
A 12-7 Bobcat advantage in the third, saw them up by ten, 37-27 heading to the fourth, where a 13-11 advantage set the final.
Nathan Frederick led the Bobcats’ scoring with a game-high fifteen points. Mason Burford scored 10 points, including a bucket from beyond the arc.
Parker Miller sank a three, as he contributed eight points. Dylan Smail had 6 points, Trey Hooks had 5, Quinn O’Neal scored 4 and Wyatt Watterson scored two.
Blake Marchinke led the Berries with fourteen points.
Bobcats’ Coach Sam Heeter shared, “I’m incredibly proud of the boys’ defensive effort tonight. Cranberry is a good team and to hold them to 38 points is a tremendous accomplishment.”
The Bobcats are scheduled to visit West Forest on Friday (January, 16th)
