Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Bulldogs in KSAC Matchup

The Clarion Area Bobcats traveled to Redbank Valley on Tuesday (February 3rd) and came away with a 44-33 win over the Bulldogs. in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference action.

Clarion led 8-6 after one period and with a 15-7 edge in the second, they took a 23-13 lead into halftime. With a 12-11 advantage in the third, the Cats led 35-24 going to the fourth, where each team scored nine points to set the final.

Parker Miller and Dylan Smail led the Bobcats scoring with twelve points apiece. Nathan Frederick added 7 points, while Wyatt Watterson had five.

Trey Hooks scored 4 points, with Mason Burford and Quinn O’Neal each contributing a pair.

Smail, Frederick and Watterson each had a bucket from beyond the arc (including a trey).

Braylon Wagner led Redbank Valley with a game-high twenty points.

Bobcat head coach Sam Heeter said, “I thought our boys played really well in a physical game against a defensively talented team.

“Redbank is well-coached and Jake (Dougherty) gets the most out of his players.

“Having a team that has multiple guys who can score points for is incredibly helpful in these types of games.”
