Boys Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Warriors In KSAC Encounter
The Clarion Area Bobcats dropped a 59-56 decision to the homestanding Moniteau Warriors, in their Keystone Shortway Conference matchup on Thursday (February 5th). This was the Bobcats’ first conference loss of the season. They now stand at 10-1 in conference play.
The Warriors led 14-8 after the first period. The Bobcats had a 10-8 advantage in the second and the teams went into halftime, with the Moniteau leading 22-18.
A 21-15 Moniteau edge in the third, had the Warriors leading 43-33 heading to the last stanza, where a 23-16 Clarion advantage set the final.
Nathan Frederick led the Bobcats with a game-high twenty-four points. Dylan Smail followed with 13 points, including one bucket from beyond the arc.
Mason Burford had 8 points and Parker Miller scored six.
Quinn O’Neal and Hayden Weber scored 2 points apiece, while Wyatt Watterson contributed one point.
Dawson Cook led Moniteau with 18 points, including five treys and Brendin Sankey scored fourteen.
The Bobcats are scheduled to visit Elk County Catholic on Monday (February 9th).
