Boys Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Crusaders

The visiting Clarion Bobcats fell to the Elk County Catholic Crusaders 61-39 in boys basketball action on Monday (February 9th).

The Crusaders led 20-10 after the first period and outscored the Bobcats 15-7 in the second to take a 35-17 halftime lead.

The third quarter was close, with the Crusaders holding a 9-6 advantage to go up 44-23 heading to the the fourth, where a 17-16 ECC edge set the final.

Dylan Smail led the Bobcats’ scoring with thirteen points. Nathan Frederick followed with 12, including a trey.

Mason Burford and Trey Hooks each had four points. Parker Miller scored 4 points, Luke Rouze had 2 and Quinn O’Neal had one.

Chase Simbeck led Elk County Catholic with a game-high 27 points, including 2 baskets from beyond the arc and Jacob Breindel followed with 15 including a trey.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host A-C Valley tomorrow night (Wednesday (February 11th).
