Boys Basketball: Bobcats Down Falcons

The homestanding Clarion Area Bobcat downed the A-C Valley Falcons 79-47 on Senior Night on Wednesday (February 11th).

The Bobcats held a 29-14 lead after one period and with an 18-9 second quarter advantage, Clarion held a 47-23 lead at the half. A 15-13 Bobcat edge in the third put the score at 62-36 heading to the fourth, where a 17-11 Clarion advantage set the final.

Nathan Frederick led the Bobcat scoring with 26 points, including four baskets from beyond the arc. Mason Burford followed with thirteen points, with Jonas Wilshire scoring ten.

Dylan Smail had 9 points, including a trey. Hayden Weber scored 8 points, with two buckets from three-point land, with Wyatt Watterson scoring six points.

Parker Miller had three points on a trey. Luke Rouze and Trey Hooks each finished with two points.

Noah Ithon led the Falcons with 14 points, including a three-pointer.

The Bobcats next action will be on Friday (February 13th) in the opener in the Keystone Athletic Conference (KSAC) Championships at Pennwest Clarion’s Tippin Gymnasium, where they are the #1 seed. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm.They will face #4 seed Moniteau. The winner of that contest will face the winner of the matchup between #2 seed Cranberry and #3 seed Clarion-Limestone in the Championship. That game is scheduled for 8:00 pm Saturday.
