Softball: Wildcats Fall To Brookville And Redbank
The Central Clarion Wildcats dropped two road games recently, falling to Brookville 9-3 on Wednesday, April 15th and 13-3 in six innings to Redbank Valley on Tuesday, April 21st.
The Bobcats scored 2 runs in the top of the first inning and 1 run in the seventh, against Brookville.
Kaylee Smith was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Brook Meals followed with a double. Later, with one out, Ashlyn Clark singled to drive Smith in, and Megan Powell drove Powell across. Clark also had a single in the sixth.
Sydney Youngman drew a base on balls to lead off the seventh. Smith followed with a one-out double and Meals drove Youngman in on the next play. Youngman also had a single in the fourth inning.
Brookville had four runs in the bottom of the first, four in the second and one in the fourth.
The Wildcats scored 1 run in the top of the first and 2 runs in the fourth in their game against Redbank.
Meals opened the game with a double and was driven in by Clark several plays later.
Smith had a leadoff single in the fourth. On the next play, Megan Powell reached base on an error. Then Lexie O’Brien drove in Smith. Powell also came around to score in the inning.
O’Brien also had a single in the second, with Smith also singling in the sixth.
Redbank had 2 runs in the second, 1 in the third, 2 in the fourth and 6 in the sixth.
