Junior High Boys Basketball B-Team Downs Wolves, Winning Streak At Four (02/19/14)

(By Coach Jason Craig)

The Jr. High Boys B-Team extended their winning streak to 4 games with a 20-19 win over the Wolves of North Clarion on Monday, February 17th. The win improves their record to 4-3 on the season.

As the score indicates, this was a very exciting contest between the two teams. The Bobcats won the first quarter 4-2 on baskets by Archer Mills and Gavin Brinkley. However, the Wolves battled back, winning the second and third periods by scores of 8-4 and 8-7, respectively. Jacob Burns and Drew Wrhen had baskets in the second. Mills had 4 points in the third and Brinkley added 3 more.

After three periods, North Clarion held an 18-15 advantage. Clarion battled back with tough defense in the final period, holding North Clarion to 1 point, while scoring 5 of their own.

For the game, Mills finished with 10 points, Brinkley with 5, Wrhen with 3 and Burns with two.

I do not have all the names for the North Clarion roster.  I do know that #15 scored 9 points, Hargenrader finished with 7 and Minich drained a 3-pointer.

I am proud of the way the boys are playing.  With limited practices due to weather, we are making adjustments on the fly.  They are playing hard and, with each win, you can see their confidence growing.
