Bobcats’ Season Ends With Loss To Elkers (02/20/14)

The Boys Basketball Team dropped a 58-32 decision to the homestanding Ridgway Elkers, on Wednesday, in the opening round of the District Nine Class-A Playoffs, bringing the Bobcats’ season to an end.

The Cats held an 8-6 lead after the first period, but a 14-7, Elker advantage in the second gave Ridgway a 5-point, 20-15 halftime lead. Ridgway led 40-26 after three.

Ellis Painter led the Cats with 10 points, followed by Antonio Troese, with seven. Brendan Miller had 6 points, Taylor Smith had 5, Steven Smathers had 3 and Cody Hearst, one.

Painter also had 5 rebounds, and Troese and Hearst each had three.

Jeremy Brier led Ridgway, with 21 points, followed by Josh Roselli, with seventeen.

The Bobcats finish their season at 11-12.
