Lady Cats Victorious At North Clarion (01/25/14) JVs Also Win

Three players scored in double figures for Clarion, as they downed homestanding North Clarion, 55-42, on Friday night. Maci Thornton led the way, with 18 points, followed by Laken Ganoe, with 11 points, including a 3-pointer, and Kyla Miles with ten.

Thornton also had 7 rebounds, 4 steals and two assists. Ganoe and Miles each had 2 rebounds and an assist.

The Lady Cats led by five, 15-10, after one period and 34-21, at the half. A 19-8, Clarion scoring edge, in the third, gave the Lady Cats a 53-29 edge heading to the final quarter. The She Wolves scored 13 fourth quarter points, to 2 for Clarion, to set the 55-42 final.

Also contributing for the Lady Cats were: Grace Kroh, with 7 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and two steals; Nicki Glenn, with 3 points, including a trey, 3 rebounds and an assist; Paige Weaver, 2 points, 2 rebounds and a steal; Anna Reed, 2 points, a rebound and a steal; Kate Beichner, 2 points and a rebound; Lauren Wiser, 3 rebounds; and Kelly Beveridge, Olivia Bartley and Maddie Weaver, with one rebound each.

Clarion also won the JV game, 32-26. The Lady Cats led 12-4, after one and increased the lead to 22-10 at the half. The She Wolves had a 9-5 scoring edge in the third quarter, giving the Cats a 27-19 lead, with one period to go. And a 7-5, North Clarion edge, in the fourth, set the 32-26 final.

Kelly Beveridge led the Clarion JVs with 13 points, 3 rebounds, an assist and six steals. Joining Beveridge in double figures was Nicki Glenn who had 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, 2 rebounds, a steal, an assist and a block.

Julie Kenneson scored 5 points and had 2 boards. Gloria Kroh and Lauren Wiser both scored two points. Wiser also had 4 rebounds, a steal and two assists. Anna Reed had a steal and an assist and Jenna Beichner had three rebounds.

The Lady Cats will host Redbank on Monday, as part of an afternoon/evening affair, that will feature 4 games (Varsity and JV for both the boys and girls teams).
