Three Bobcats Named To Pennsylvania Football News All-State Squad (01/03/13)

The Pennsylvania Football News (PFN) 2012 All-State team was announced earlier this week and three Bobcats were named to the Class A Squad, with one 1st Team selection and two Honorable Mentions.

Named to the 1st Team was T. J. Armstrong. T. J., a Senior, was named as a Linebacker. This was the second straight year that T. J. was named 1st Team at Linebacker. He was also named as a 3rd Team Defensive Lineman, as a Freshman, after the 2009 season.

T. J. had 102 tackles (48 solo), 22 for loss, with 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, on the year.

The Cats named Honorable Mention were Senior Tanner Klein, at Punter (Tanner’s second straight year being named H.M. at that position), and Damien Slike who was named as a Kick Returner.

For the year, Tanner averaged 36.22 yards per punt, with 7 inside the opponent’s 20 yard line. His longest punt was 49 yards.

In 2012, Damien returned 12 kickoffs for 380 yards (31.67 avg.). His longest return, this past season went for 90 yards.

Other KSAC players to be selected in Single A were: Brody Shick a 1st Team, Defensive Back from Union and his Golden Knight teammates (all Honorable Mention): Jake Gezik, Offensive Lineman; Aaron Graham, Defensive Back; Dylan Shirey, Defensive Back; Tyler Wiser, Defensive Lineman; Travis Daugherty, Linebacker; Eric Seary, Linebacker; Darren Seary, Offensive Lineman; Jesse Minick, Offensive Lineman; and Cody Kline, Running Back.

In Double A, the KSAC players selected were: Nate Nosker a 3rd Team Offensive Lineman, from Brookville and his Raider teammates (all Honorable Mention). Justin Snyder, Defensive Lineman; Nate Bonfardine, Linebacker; Zack Vroman, Linebacker; Cam Yard, Place Kicker; and Brody Zacherl, Running Back, as well as the St. Marys Flying Dutch duo of, Alex Feldbauer, Running Back; and Christian Kellar, Defensive Lineman.

The Punxsutawney Chucks had two Honorable Mentions in Triple A: Garrett Zimmerman, Defensive Athlete and Jamie Bush, Running Back.

Port Allegany Quarterback, Matt Bodamer was named the Single A, Player of the Year.
