Baseball Team Drops 2-1 Decision To Cranberry (04/23/14)

The Clarion Area Baseball Team lost a close, KSAC North Game at Cranberry on Tuesday. There were a combined three runs scored on five hits in the game, a pitching duel between the Bobcats’ Matt Verne and the Berries’ Dylan Cyphert, which Cranberry won, 2-1.

The game was scoreless through 3 1/2 innings. Cranberry put one run across the plate, in the bottom of the fourth and another one in the fifth.

Clarion came back with a run of their own, in the top of the sixth as Caleb Wilson scored on a single by Tanner Corbett.
Adrian Weber also had a hit for the Bobcats.

Cyphert had a solo home run for the Berries. Ty Rex and Jacob Creighton each had hits for the Berries.
With the loss, the Bobcats drop to 4-1 and 3-1 in the KSAC.

The Cats will play Keystone today (Wednesday April 23) at the County Park.
