Track And Field Teams Participate In Tri-Meets (04/25/14)

Both Clarion Area Track And Field Teams were in Tri-Meets with Redbank Valley and Clarion-Limestone, on Wednesday.

The Lady Cats traveled to New Bethlehem, where they downed the Lady Lions 94-56, but lost to the host Lady Bulldogs 88-61. The Bobcat boys hosted their meet at Memorial Stadium, where they defeated the Lions 104-36 and dropped a close 77-72 decision to the Bulldogs.

Lady Cats:
Jenn Ochs was a triple winner against the Lady Lions, winning all three throwing events: Shot Put (27-4.5), Discus (78-1) and Javelin (124-0). Ochs’ Javelin distance also earned her a second place against Redbank Valley and would be enough to qualify for States if it was achieved in a District Meet.

Clarion swept the Shot Put against C-L, with Grace Kroh taking second and Claire Saylor finishing third. Saylor also finished third in the Discus, while Meagan Hinderliter took second in the Javelin.

Laken Ganoe was a double winner against each school, taking the High Jump (4-10) and Triple Jump (34-8). The Lady Cats swept the High Jump against both opponents, as Julie Kenneson finished second and Paige Weaver, Katie Eustice and Nicki Glenn tied for third.

Gloria Kroh finished second in the Triple Jump against RBV and third against C-L.

Madison Weaver was victorious in the Long Jump (15-7.5), with Ganoe taking second against both Redbank Valley and C-L.

 
Kyla Miles tied for first place, in the 100 (13.7) against RBV and finished second against C-L. She was second in the 200 against C-L and third against RBV. Forest Mills finished first in the 800 (2:49) against the Lions and second against the Bulldogs. Mills finished second in the 400 against both schools.

Allison Harriger was victorious in the 1600 (7:09.5) against C-L and third against RBV. Hannah Frakes won the 3200 (14:07.4) against the Lions and finished second against the Bulldogs. Gloria Kroh finished second in the 100 Hurdles and 300 Hurdles against both schools. Katie Eustice finished third in the 100 Hurdles and tied for third in the 300 Hurdles, with teammates Hannah Phillips and Julie Kenneson, against each school.

Tori Porter took third in the 100 and Lili Frakes finished third in the 1600 against C-L.

The Lady Cats won all three Relays against C-L. Ganoe, Grace Kroh, Madison Weaver and Miles teamed to win the 4×100 (54.6). Madison Weaver, Chelsea Mason, Emily Phillips and Mills won the 4×400 (4:55.7) and Harriger, Mason, Emily Phillips and Mills won the 4×800 (12:28.8). The 4×100 and 4×400 relays also finished first against RBV.

Only the place finishes, in the combined meet totals against Clarion-Limestone and Redbank Valley were available for the boys. Ian Corbett was a quadruple winner, taking the 100 (11.3), 200 (25.3) and Long Jump (19-7) and joining with Matt Wagner, Zach Hill and Cody Hearst to win the 4×100 Relay (45.9).

Liam Raehsler was a triple winner. Raehsler led a Bobcat sweep in the 1600 (5:04), with Antonio Troese finishing second and Adam Bettwy taking third. Raehsler won the 3200 (11:16), with Bettwy taking second.

Raehsler joined Nadir Lynch, Damien Cherico and Troese on the winning 4×800 Relay (10:00.3).

The Bobcats swept the 800 with Troese taking first place (2:16.6), followed by Cherico and Raehsler.

Kriebel took second in the 110 Hurdles. Brandon Phillips was second in the 400 and Hill took second in the 200 and High Jump. Ty Burford took third in the 300 Hurdles.

The Bobcats will take part in the Hermitage Invitational on Saturday.
