Bobcats Down Bulldogs 13-0 In Five Innings (05/14/14)

The Clarion Area Baseball Team defeated the homestanding Redbank Valley Bulldogs, 13-0 in five innings, Tuesday afternoon.

Brendan Miller was the big gun for the Bobcats, hitting two homeruns and driving in five runs. He also scored three runs. Coach Rob Jewett named Miller the Bobcats’ Player of the Game for his performance.

Clarion scored all of their runs in the first three innings, 3 in the first and five apiece in the second and third innings.

Leo Aiello had three hits, scoring twice and driving in a run. Matt Verne had a single, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base. He also scored a run. Max Lane had a pair of singles. Tanner Corbett singled, scored 3 runs and stole two bases.

Adrian Weber had a single and an RBI. John Katis had an RBI and a stolen base. Caleb Wilson had a steal and scored three times and Thomas Plummer scored once.

John Katis started on the mound and went two innings, throwing two strikeouts. Max Lane came on in relief, going three innings and throwing eight strikeouts.

The Bobcats are now 11-3 and will host East Forest in a doubleheader, at Veterans’ Field at Clarion County Park, this afternoon (Wednesday, May 14) beginning at 3:00PM.
