Janney Downs CCCB In Clarion LL Softball Action (05/21/14)

Janney jumped out to an early lead against CCCB Tuesday night in girls’ Little League softball action and went on to win 19-3.

Kaitlyn Constantino and Nikki Shumaker shared the pitching duties for Janney and held CCCB to 3 hits and 3 runs over 4 innings. Constantino threw the first three innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 6. Shumaker came on in the fourth giving up 2 runs on 1 hit and one strikeout.

Abby Simpson, Monica Heath, and Bailey Smith shared the pitching duties for CCCB.

Janney scored 2 runs in the first, 5 in the second, 4 in the third, and 8 in the fourth. CCCB scored 1 in the first and 2 in the fourth.

Janney pounded out 10 hits in the contest. Shumaker had three hits, including a double. Brenna Campbell also had three hits. Constantino and Dorothy Kalinowski each had two hits, with one of Kalinowski’s hits being a double.

CCCB was led by Abby Simpson’s two hits, one a double. Abby Carl had the other hit for CCCB.
