Ian Corbett Top Seed In 100 Meters (05/20/14)

Clarion Area sprinter, Ian Corbett has received the number 1 seed, in the 100 meters the PIAA State Track and Field Championships, set for this Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, at Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University. Corbett is also seeded ninth in the 200 meters.

Corbett took first in the 100 and second in the 200, at the District Nine Class-AA Championships last Friday. His times of 10.89, in the 100 and 22.79 in the 200, both met State Qualifying standards. First and second place winners, at the District Nine Meet, as well as, any others reaching State Qualifying standards advance to States.

Lady Cat, Jenn Ochs is seeded 12th in the Javelin with a State Qualifying throw of 124-4. She finished fourth in the event at Districts.

Liam Raehsler, who won the District Championship, in the 3200 meters, with a time of 10:02.53, is seeded sixteenth and the Bobcats’ 4 x 100 relay team (Corbett, Matt Wagner, Zach Hill, Cody Hearst), which finished second at Districts, with a time of 45.67, is seeded 28th.
