C And A Trees Downs Farmers In Saturday Softball Action (06/09/14)

C and A Trees and Farmers National Bank met in a Clarion Little League Softball game, on Saturday, at Paul A. Weaver Park. C and A won the game by a 21-10 score.

C and A jumped out to a 2 run lead in the top of the first, but Farmers took the lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the inning. C and A knotted the score at 3-all the top of the second, but Farmers scored three runs, in the bottom of the inning to take a 6-3 lead.

The lead was short lived, as C and A scored nine runs in the third. Farmers would score two, in the bottom of the inning. The game was close at that point, with C and A holding a four run, 12 -8 lead, heading to the fourth.

But C and A would score five runs in the fourth inning. They added four more in the fifth, all of the runs coming on a grand slam, inside the park home run by Alli Girt. Farmers would answer with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, to set the final.

This was C and A’s second win in as many games, as they downed CCCB in a game on Friday night.
