Farmers Wins Squeaker With C-93 (06/19/14)
Farmers National Bank and C-93 hooked up in Clarion Area Little League Softball action, at Weaver Park, on Wednesday.
Farmers came away with a one-point, 4-3 win, in what proved to be quite a pitchers’ duel between Farmers’ Karliegh Aaron and C-93’s Meghan Stahlman. Aaron allowed only 4 hits while striking out 11 and Stahlman gave up only 5 hits while tossing 10 strikeouts.
C-93 opened the scoring, with one run in the top of the first. Farmers failed to score in the bottom of the inning and neither team scored in the second. C-93 increased their lead to 2-0, with a run in the top of the third. Farmers tied the score at 2-all, with two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The tie held until the bottom of the fifth, when Farmers plated two runs, to take a 4-2 lead. C-93 answered with a run in the sixth, to set the final.

Aaron and Natalie Myers led Farmers with 2 hits apiece. Lindsey Kemmer also had a hit. All three scored a run, as did Sarah Clark.
Stahlman led C-93 with three hits and two runs scored. Alayna Murray had a hit and Carly Best scored a run.
