Cats Do Well At Track And Field Invites (04/28/15)

Several Clarion Area Track and Field Athletes took part in invitationals last Friday (April 24th) and Saturday (April 25th), with a number of them earning medals.

Liam Raehsler competed in the 1600  and 3200 at the Mars Invitational, on Friday, and placed in both events.

Raehsler ran a 4:27.49 in the 1600, to place fifth out of forty-four runners. His time in the 3200 was 9:52.84, for another fifth place finish, this time in a field of thirty-seven.

The Bobcats and Lady Cats had several first place finishers, as well as a number of other medalists, on Saturday, at the Franklin Invitational.

Ian Corbett came away as a triple winner. He won the 100, in 11:23, the 200 in 23.05 and also took the long jump with a leap of 21-2. Raehsler, competing on his second straight day, won the 1600 in 4:34.32 and took third the 800 in 2:07.67. The Bobcats finished seventh in the team standings.

Jenn Ochs led the Lady Cats, garnering first place in the javelin, with a throw of 124-2. Julie Kenneson tied for third in the high jump, going 4-8.

Gabby Weaver finished seventh in the 100  hurdles at 19.31 and Zoe Shaffer took eight place in the 400, with a time of 1:09.71.

Also competing for the Lady Cats were Aniya brown, Allison Harriger, Maya Miller and Devon Quinn.
