Rotary Moves To 2-1 With Two Wins In C.A.L.L. Action (05/03/25)

Rotary moved their record two 2-1, with two recent wins. Rotary Manager Bill Smith shared these recaps of the games:

GERMAN’S FIRST CAREER HOMERUN LEADS ROTARY PAST BURNS & BURNS ON OPENING DAY (Saturday April 25th)

On Clarion Little League’s second game of opening day, Rotary’s Calvin German hit his first career homerun leading Rotary to 11-1 win over Burns & Burns.

German led the first inning off with a double, followed by an RBI single from Hayden Siegel. Tommy Smith hit in Siegel. Burns & Burns’ Hunter Craddick then struck out the next two batters to end the inning with a 2-0 lead by Rotary.

Burns & Burns one run of the game came in the second inning, starting with Devon Lauer being walked. Bryce Brinkley recorded his first little league hit driving Lauer to third base, who then scored on a stolen base.

The big fourth inning started with German’s homerun, followed by Siegel drawing a walk. Brady Fowkes singled to move Siegel to third, who then scored by a base hit from T. Smith. Alex Garduno was then hit by a pitch, followed by a walk by Kohen Kemmer to load the bases for third baseman, Nick Aaron. Aaron came through with his first little league hit, driving in two runs.

Good eyes by Jake Smith drew a walk to put the bat back in German’s hands, for the second time of the inning. German delivered a base clearing double to bring in the ninth and tenth runs. Siegel followed with a single, driving in Rotary’s 11th to finish off the scoring of the eighth inning.

German struck out the side to finish the fourth inning and end the game.

ROTARY MOVES TO 2-1 WITH WIN OVER DELTA CONTRACTORS (Tuesday April 28th)

Delta Contractor’s Ethan Burford led the game off with a base hit, and was eventually driven in by hits from Ryan Hummel and Brecken Rex. Brady Fowkes struck out the fifth batter of the inning to stop the threat. Good eyes and timely hitting propelled a 10 run first inning for Rotary, where Jake Smith had his first little league hit.

Top of the second, Ashton Rex and Cooper Shall were both driven in by Burford’s triple to get Delta Contractors back on the scoreboard. Shortstop Cal German recorded outs at third and first, while second baseman Jake Smith snagged a fly ball to record one of the outs of the inning.

Rotary’s Kohen Kemmer was walked to begin the bottom of the second. J. Smith got his second hit of the game to put runners on first and third. German followed with a base hit to drive in Kemmer. Tommy Smith reached base on an error which allowed J. Smith to score. Brady Fowkes then ripped a triple down the first base line to drive in German and T. Smith. Fowkes was then driven in with a fielder’s choice by Nick Aaron to finish off the scoring.

Back to back doubles in the third inning by Delta Contractor’s Brecken Rex and Braden Rankin scored their fourth and final run of the game.

Hayden Siegel finished the game on the mound for Rotary with a strong performance recording two strikeouts and three ground ball outs.
