Lady Cats Soccer Team Concludes Season (11/08/15)
(By Coach Chris Schonbachler)
The Clarion Lady Cat soccer team finished up their season with a tough 2-0 loss to Punxsutawney (on Wednesday, October 22nd). The short roster, due to injuries, persisted throughout most of the season, but the girls pushed past that and displayed strong efforts in all of their games.
Wendy Beveridge had an outstanding freshman season as the team’s goalkeeper. I had numerous conversations with opposing coaches during the year, who were surprised to learn Wendy was only in her freshman year.
Forest Mills proved to be the Lady Cats primary offensive threat, tallying the most goals this season, while Maddy Weaver anchored a defensive front that at times this season, dominated opposing teams.
The Lady Cats finished the 2015 season with a 6-12 record. The team, along with individual players, will be recognized for their hard work this season at their annual end of season banquet on November 16th.
(Thanks to Coach Schonbachler for this article. FINE SEASON, LADY CATS!!!!)
