Clarion Lady Cat freshman Katie Craig broke a long standing School Record! On the strength of a personal best time of 21:15, which earned her a 10th place finish and a medal in the District Nine Championships, Katie earned a trip to States, a feat which has not been accomplished by a freshman boy or girl, in Clarion Cross Country history, for as long as we have records.

And this group includes Molly Smathers, Megan Grove and Kailynn Lingwall on the girls’ side. The boys’ side includes Brent McNeil, current Clarion University cross Country Head Coach Eric Laughlin and current Penn State runner Liam Raeshler.

For her efforts over the course of the season, Katie was named team MVP.

Katie is among the some great runners in Clarion history and the best is yet to come.

(Thanks to Coach Murtha for this article. CONGRATULATIONS ON THIS GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT, KATIE!!!!)
