Seven Bobcats Named To 2015 TCS/C-E Football All-Star Team (12/29/15)

The Tri-County Sunday/Courier-Express newspapers, from DuBois, announced their 2015 Football All-Star Team, on Sunday (December 27th). The Team includes players from Clarion, Brockway, Brookville, Clarion-Limestone, Clearfield, Curwensville, DuBois, Elk County Catholic, Redbank Valley Ridgway ans St. Marys.

First Team Defensive Back, senior Brendan Miller heads a contingent of seven Clarion Bobcat gridders selected to this season’s squad. Brendan had 85 tackles and five interceptions.

The Cats had three second team selections, senior Offensive Lineman Alexander Burkhart, sophomore Linebacker Colton Rapp and sophomore Punter Spencer Miller. Alexander led the Bobcats’ Offensive Line, that paved the way for 185.9 rushing yards. Colton had 101 tackles and three sacks. Spencer averaged 38.4 yards per punt.

Earning Honorable Mention nods were senior Zack Huet, and juniors Kyle Patterson and Josh Kriebel.

Player of the Year was Dante Dawson from DuBois, while Brockway mentor Frank Zocco was named Coach of the Year.

Redbank Valley: First Team – Brylee Shumaker OL, Wyatt Hetrick Athlete; Second Team – Conner Shoemaker DB; Honorable Mention: Nick Shoemaker, Clint Thurston.

Brookville: Second Team – John Davis DL; Honorable Mention – Laogan Thrush, Seth Ray.

St. Marys: First Team – Nick Cunningham LB, Nick Taylor P; Second Team – D. J. Salinas OL, Brady Bauer WR, Balton Bauer LB; Honorable Mention – Christian Steffan, Matt Marconi.
