DE Sports Opens Season At 7-0 (06/17/16)
The DE Sports Baseball Team has started the season very well, with a 7-0 record. Manager Lee Weber shares the following recaps of the games:

DE Sports 4 – Franklin 3 (at Franklin)
It was not one of our better defensive game but outstanding pitching held down a usually strong hitting Franklin team.
DE Sports scored 2 in 1st, 1 in 3rd, and 1 in 4th with 9 hits and 4 errors.
Franklin scored 1 in 1st and 2 in 7th with 2 hits and 1 error. Lauer 3 for 4 and Leadbetter was 2 for 4. Reed and Ryan Anthony plus Craig each had singles and Bo Miller added a double. Reed Anthony (3 inn), Bo Miller(3 inn), and Sam Leadbetter (1 inn) combined for 2 hits and 3 runs but none were earned.

DE Sports 10 – Pleasantville 0 – (at Clarion)
It was a strong overall performance by our team. Pitching, defense, and hitting were all in high gear.
Pleasantville had 0 runs, on 5 hits, and 3 errors. DE Sports scored 10 runs, on 9 hits, and 0 errors.
A. Weber, Bo Miller, and S. Leadbetter each had 2 hits each with Weber having a double and Miller adding the game winning homerun! D. Lauer and M. Rearick had big triples and Zander Hargenrader also had a single.
Weber(3 inn), Conner(2 inn), and Zayn Hargenrader(1 Inn) combined for 6 innings and gave up only 5 hits and 0 runs.

DE Sports 27 – Grove City (2) 0 (2 innings) (at Grove City)
A combination of our hitting and their errors created a run-away game.
Grove City 2 had 0 runs, 2 hits, and 6 errors. DE Sports had 27 runs, 15 hits, and 0 errors.
Bo Miller had 4 hits including a double and 3 rbi’s. S. Leadbetter had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s. Spencer Miller had a great day from the #9 position with 3 hits including a solo shot homerun, 5 rbi’s, and scored 4 runs. L. Nelllis also had 2 big hits, a double and solo homerun deep into left center. He aslo scored 5 times. Zander Hargenrader added 5 rbi’s with a bases loaded double and 3 walks. A. Weber had a double and scored 4 runs and M. Rearick added a single and scored 3 runs.
Leadbetter (3 inn), Lauer (1 inn), and Nellis (1 inn) combined for a 2 hitter. Leadbetter also had 7 K’s.

DE Sports 3 – Cranberry 2
DE Sports scored 3 runs on 7 hits with 1 error. Cranberry scored 2 runs on 4 hits and no errors.
Leadbetter and Weber started with walks, advanced 1 base on wild pitch and scored when Brendan Miller hit a line drive deep into left center to drive in the first 2 runs. In the third, Zayn Hargenrader hit a screaming line drive to left center for a solo and winning homerun!
Weber went 2 for 3. Lauer, Rearick, and Zander Hargenrader each added singles. Cranberry 2 runs came by a double hit Brannon.
Brendan Miller started the first 3 innings and gave up 2r, 3h, 1w, and 3 K.
Adrian Weber finished the last 4 inning and gave up 0r, 1h, 1w, and 4 K.
Team record 4-0.

Bo Miller and Weber both had 2 hits with Miller hitting 2 doubles and Weber scoring 3 runs. Derek Lauer went 3 for 3 with a double, 3 rbi, and scored 3 runs. Zayn Hargenrader had a double with the bases loaded and both Mason Rearick and Reed Anthony adding singles.
Reed Anthony pitched 4 inn and gave up only 2 hits, 0 walks, and 4 K. Miller pitched the last inn and gave up 1 hit.

Miller, Weber, Leadbetter, Lauer, Zayn Hargenrader, and Zander Hargenrader each had 1 hit but Miller’s was a double. Weber, Leadbetter, and Zayn Hargenrader each also added 1 rbi.
Miller started the first 2 inn and gave up 1 run but not earned with 2 hits, no bb, and 2 K. Leadbetter pitched the final 3 inn and gave up 3 bb but no hits and runs. He also added 4 K.

Weber, Reed Anthony, Leadbetter, Zayn Hargenrader (triple and 4 rbi), and Luke Nellis each had 2 hits while Cam Craig, Zander Hargenrader, and Ryan Anthony added. Craig’s hit was a double with 3 rbi.
