The Team Captains shared their thoughts on the upcoming season. Courtney Schonbachler said, “I’m looking forward to this, because we’ve shown a lot of improvement from last year. The younger girls have been putting in a lot of work. I feel like this is going to be a very good season for us.”

Hannah Phillips added, “I think that our girls have a lot of potential this year. Everyone has been working really hard and I can’t wait to kick off the season.”

Forrest Madison Mills said, “I agree with my other two captains. This year we’ve been more serious about how much work we put in. We know that we want to be good, so we are trying to work really hard to beat our record from last year. We would love to make the playoffs and hope to win Districts. We’ve set a lot of goals and we are really working hard to reach them.”

Coach Schonbachler is looking forward to a fine season and is happy with what he is seeing from his team. He said, “I’m looking forward to the season. I think it will be a good year. It’s interesting, different from other years. There is no outright superstar on this team. The girls are coming together collectively, playing together as a team really well. I’m looking forward to seeing how that translates to the field.

“(The numbers are up a little bit this year) fourteen verses thirteen last year.

But we had some injuries last year. We’re slightly better off, but we’ve still got to watch for injuries. We’ve focused in the preseason on getting stretched out and in shape and being prepared for the season, so we can avoid the fitness injuries. The pulled muscles and things like that, that we can’t afford to have. If we can avoid that, I think we can be in good shape for the season.”

(Have a great season, Lady Cats!!!!)
