Bobcat Gridders Do Well In First Scrimmage (08/21/16)
The Clarion Bobcat Football Team hosted Marion Center in their first scrimmage on Saturday (August 20th) at Memorial Stadium.
It was a good outing for the Cats as they scored three times. Junior tailback Colton Rapp had a 48 yard touchdown up the middle. Junior quarterback Spencer Miller threw a screen pass to senior fullback Michael McCloskey that went 18 yards for a score.
Junior tailback Sterling Conner finished the Bobcats scoring with a nice 33 yard touchdown going to the right side of the field then cutting back to the left.
The Clarion Varsity defense didn’t allow a score, being particularly strong up the middle against a huge line.
Three defensive linemen, nose guard Korbin Schill, end Thomas Wurster and tackle Tyler finefrock registered sacks.
Marion Center scored a lone touchdown near the end of the scrimmage.
The Cats will travel to St. Mary’s on Friday (August 26th) for their last scrimmage. Start time is 5:00 P.M.
