Lady Cats Volleyball Team Clinches KSAC Title (10/16/16)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats Volleyball Team clinched their 15th Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Championship, at home on Thursday (October 13th), with a straight set, 3-0, victory over the Redbank Valley Lady Bulldogs. Clarion, 23-4, 11-0 KSAC, defeated Redbank 25-11, 25-21 and 25-16. Both teams were undefeated in conference play coming into the game.

Gloria Kroh had a career night, scoring 13 points, including5 aces, dishing out 31 assists and collecting ten digs.

Alexis Constantino and Lexi Lauer each scored nine points. Constantino had an ace, 3 kills and 9 digs, while Lauer had 2 aces, 3 kills and six digs. Devon Quinn chipped in with eight points.

Olivia burns had 3 points, 16 kills and eight digs. Maya Thornton had 3 points 5 kills and five digs. Dorothy Kalinowski had 5 kills and Hailey Sintobin had three kills.

The Lady Cats were 23-4 overall, through Thursday’s contest and 11-0 in the KSAC.

The JV’s remained undefeated also, winning 2-0 (25-19, 25-19).

Clarion’s win over Redbank Valley came on the heels of a Lady Cats victory over Venango Catholic, on Tuesday night (October 11th). Clarion won 3-0 (25-2, 25-8, 15-8).

Alexis Constantino led the scoring with 24 points, including five aces. Quinn had 11 points, including seven aces. Thornton scored 7 points and had 3 kills. Burns had 3 points, including 2 aces, 4 kills, 4 assists and two digs. Kroh had 3 points, both aces, 3 kills and five assists.

Sintobin had 3 kills, Lauer had a kill and a dig and Kalinowski had a kill.

The Lady Cats held their Elite Tournament, yesterday (Saturday, October 15th). We will have an article after we receive details.  The Lady Cats will travel to McDowell on Thursday (October 20th) and will compete in the North Allegheny Tournament on Saturday (October 22nd). They’ll finish their regular season, at home, against Altoona, on Tuesday, October 25th.
