Five Bobcats Advance To Quarterfinals At Fred Bell Tournament (01/28/17)

Five Clarion Area grapplers advanced to the quarterfinals, in the Fred Bell Tournament, at Grove City on Friday (January 27th).

Frank Weber advanced at 132, after posting a technical fall over Walt Drda of West Middlesex in his first match and registering a pin in his next bout, with Dominic Ellis of Conneaut. Mike LeFay advanced at 152 after receiving a bye and then pinning his McGuffey’s Bryton Johnson.

Colton Rapp moved on at 160, with a bye and then registering a fall over Brookville’s Tyler Smith. Ben Smith, wrestling at 195, pinned each of his first two opponents, Brandon Richardson of Union City and Sharpsville’s Matt Harenchar.

Tom Wurster had a bye in his first bout at 220 and then won his second bout.
