Softball Round-up: Lady Cats Bounce Back From Loss On Monday With Three Straight Wins (05/13/17)

After a loss to Cranberry on Monday, the Clarion Area Lady Cats Softball Team bounced back, with three straight wins to move their record to 6-8.

Monday, May 8th: Cranberry 21 – Clarion 5 (6 innings)

The visiting Lady Berries led just 3-1 after three innings, but broke the game open with an 18-4 advantage over the next three.

MacKenzie DiTullio had a single and a triple. Carly Best and Maya Thornton each had a pair of singles and a double, with Best scoring two runs.

Sydney Kiser doubled, while Sadie Rudesyle and Kaitlyn Constantino each singled and scored a run. Alexis Constantino also scored once.

Tuesday, May 9th: Clarion 7 – Brookville 6

The Lady Cats had a 5-1 lead after two innings and held on to defeat the homestanding Lady Raiders 7-6.

Cora Zerfoss, Carly Best Alexis Constantino and Sydney Kiser each had a pair of singles. Zerfoss had an RBI and scored a run, Kiser scored twice and Alexis Constantino scored once. Kaitlyn Constantino singled and scored a pair of runs. Tori Vegan singled and scored. Maya Thornton had a hit and Liz Saver scored a run.

Wednesday, May 11th: Clarion 11 – A-C Valley 4

Clarion led 7-2 after three on their way to their 11-4 victory over the Lady Falcons at Foxburg.

Carlie Best led the way with three singles and a double. She drove in two runs and scored twice. MacKenzie DiTullio had a pair of doubles and an RBI. She also scored a run.

Sydney Kiser had two singles, driving in two runs, while also scoring twice. Cora Zerfoss had two hits, driving in a run and also scored a run. Alexis Constantino had two singles.

Liz Saver and Maya Thornton each had a hit, while scoring a run. Kaitlyn Constantino had a single and Sadie Rudesyle scored twice.

Friday, May 12th: Clarion 17 – Kane 1 (4 innings)

The Lady Cats scored nine runs in the second inning on their way to a 17-1 (4 inning) win over the Lady Wolves. Kaitlyn Constantino threw a two-hitter, with nine strikeouts to pick up the win, for the visitors. She also had a big day on offense, with a double, a single, 3 RBIs and a run scored.

Alexis Constantino had a double and scored three runs. Liz Saver doubled, scored once and drove in a pair of runs. Cora Zerfoss doubled with an RBI and two runs scored.

Maya Thornton had a hit, drove in a run and scored twice. Carly Best singled, drove in two runs and scored once. Sydney Kiser singled, had an RBI and scored a run. Sadie Rudesyle scored three runs. MacKenzie DiTullio, Leticia Negri and Lyndsey Kemmer each scored once.
