Bobcats And Lady Cats Enter District Nine Class-AA Basketball Playoffs This Week, Pairings Announced (02/18/18)

The Clarion Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams will enter the District Nine Class-AA playoffs this week.

The #6 seed Lady Cats (9-13) open with a quarterfinal match-up with #3 Cranberry (14-8), at North Clarion, on Wednesday (February 21st), at 7:30PM. The winner will face #2 Coudersport (19-3), in a semifinal game at a date, time and location to be determined.

The #4 seed Ridgway (12-9) will face #5 Keystone (9-13), in the other quarterfinal at Brookville, on Wednesday at 6:00PM. The winner of that one will face #1 Kane (21-1), in the other semifinal, also at a date, time and location to be determined.

Boys quarterfinal action will get underway on Thursday (February 22nd). The #5 seed Bobcats (16-6) will face #4 Clarion-Limestone (16-6) at Tippin Gymnasium at 6:00PM in the opening game of a double-header, with the winner facing #1 seed Ridgway (22-0), in a semifinal game, at a date, time and location to be determined. Keystone (16-6) seeded third will face #6 Brockway (11-11) in the late game at 7:30PM.

On the same night, #7 Curwensville (11-11) will face #2 Coudersport (19-3), at St. Marys at 6:00PM.

The winners of the Keystone-Brockway game and the Curwensville-Coudersport game will meet in the other semifinal at a date, time and location to be determined.

The top three teams in both the Girls and Boys Divisions will advance to the State Playoffs.
