Softball And Baseball Round-up (04/14/18)

The Clarion Area Softball and Baseball Teams each saw action twice this week.

Softball

The Lady Cats played at Forest Area on Wednesday (April 11th) and were up 7-1 after three. The game was halted due to weather conditions and will be completed at a later date.

The Lady Cats hosted Clarion-Limestone at Paul A. Weaver Park on Friday (April 13th) and came away a 13-0 winner, in five innings.

Pitcher Sadie Rudesyle threw a one-hitter, striking out 6 and walking just one.

The Lady Cats scored one in the first, five in the second, four in the third and three more in the fourth.

Brenna Campbell had three hits, including a triple. Rudesyle, Carly Best, Maya Thornton and Kate Constantino each had a pair of hits. One of Constantino’s hits was a triple: she drove in a pair of runs and scored three times. Thornton had a pair of RBIs and scored twice. Best had an RBI and scored three times. Rudesyle scored a run.

Alexis Constantino doubled, drove in two and scored once and Ava Kiser scored a pair of runs.

The Lady Cats have three games scheduled next week, hosting Moniteau on Monday (April 16th), then traveling to Keystone on Tuesday (April 17th) and A-C Valley on Thursday (April 19th).

Baseball

Clarion Area downed visiting Forest Area 18-0, in three innings on Wednesday (April 11th).

Spencer Miller and Sterling Conner each had three hits. Miller had two doubles, with four RBIs and two runs scored. Conner had three RBIs and scored twice. Cam Craig had two hits, including a double, a pair of RBIs and two runs scored. Lake Staub had two RBIs and Nate Datko scored a pair of runs.

Skyler Pastor allowed no hits, striking out five, in two innings, to pick up the win. He walked two. Cutter Boggess pitched an inning and struck out two, without giving up a hit.

The visiting Bobcats lost to St. Marys 6-1 on Friday (April 13th).

The Cats had six hits, including three from Spencer Miller. Miller scored the Bobcats’ run.

Spencer Miller had three of Clarion’s six hits going 3-for-4 with a run scored.

The Bobcats have three games scheduled for next week, hosting Moniteau on Monday (April 16th), then traveling to Keystone on Tuesday (April 17th) and A-C Valley on Thursday (April 19th).
