Softball Round-Up: Lady Cats Down Union, Fall To St. Marys (04/28/18)

The Clarion Area Softball Team traveled to Union on Thursday (April 26th) and to St. Marys on Friday (April 27th). The Lady Cats downed Union, 17-2 in three innings, but fell to St. Marys, 10-0 in six innings.

Clarion vs Union

The Lady Cats scored two runs in the top of the first, then had a big fourteen run output in the second, before tacking on a run in the third. The Golden Damsels’ runs came in the bottom of the second.

Alexis Constantino had a big day at the plate, with a three run homer and a single. She had 4 RBIs total. Wendy Beveridge had two hits, including a triple and Kaitlyn Constantino had two hits including a double. MacKenzie DiTullio also had two hits.

Sydney Kiser tripled, while Carly Best and Brenna Campbell each had a double. Kaitlyn Consantino, DiTullio, Beveridge, and Best each drove in a pair of runs. Maya Thornton added an RBI.

Sadie Rudesyle pitched all three innings, giving up just two hits and striking out three, to pick up the win.

Bella Murphy had a double and an RBI for Union.

Clarion vs St. Marys

The Lady Cats were limited to one hit, Kaitlyn Constantino’s single in the sixth inning.

Maura Fledderman tossed the one hitter for the Lady Dutch.

The Lady Cats’ game against Redbank on Saturday (April 28th) was postponed. They will host Karns City on Monday (April 30th).
