Clarion Area Track And Field Teams Sweep North Clarion And Cranberry (05/12/18)

The homestanding Clarion Area Track and Field Teams swept North Clarion and Cranberry on Tuesday (May 8th). The Bobcats downed North Clarion 81-67 and Cranberry 94-52, while the Lady Cats defeated North Clarion 77-69 and Cranberry 72-67.

BOBCAT OVERALL WINNERS

Nathaniel Lerch

Brendan Zerfoss won two individual events, taking the 100 (11.1) and the 200 (22.8).  Don Cunningham won the 400 (54.8) Austin Hummell was victorious in the 800 (2:03.1), while Nathaniel Lerch took the 1600 (4:47.1). Marshall Powers finished first in the 300 hurdles (41.8).

The 4×400 relay (5:10.5) and 4×800 relay (9:370 were both victorious.

The Bobcats had three winners in the field events. Gavin Brinkley took the triple jump (39-9). Tom Hearst captured the pole vault (10-6) and Clayton McElravy won the discus (103-6).

LADY CATS OVERALL WINNERS

Laken Lewis won three individual events, the long jump (15-4), the triple jump (33-0.75) and the high jump (5-4.25) Lewis’ high jump height broke the old school record of 5-4.

Gabby Weaver won two individual events, taking the 100 hurdles (17.7) and 300 hurdles (53.6). Kyara Girvan placed first in the 200 (28.7) and Phylicia Hockman was victorious in the 800 (2:31.8).

Weaver, Girvan and Hockman were joined by Ali Troese on the winning 4×400 relay (4:43.4).
