Track And Field Update: Bobcats And Lady Cats Fall To Moniteau (05/05/18)

The Clarion Area Track and Field Teams traveled to Moniteau on Tuesday, May 1st. The Bobcats dropped a 94-56 decision, while the Lady Cats fell 81.5-68.5.

Bobcats

Brendan Zerfoss won two individual events, the 100 (11.4) and the 200 (23.5). Nathaniel Lerch won the 3200 (11:00).

The Cats won the three relays. Marshall Powers, Donnie Cunningham, Ethan Burford and Zerfoss combined to win the 4×100 (48.5). Cunningham, Lerch, Austin Hummell and Noah Schill made up the victorious 4×800 relay (9:03.4). The 4×400 relay consisting of Noah Schill, Hummell, Powers and Zerfoss won in a time of 3:35.

Lady Cats

Laken Lewis won two individual events, long jump (16-2.5) and the triple jump (33-6). She also finished second in the pole vault, breaking her own school record clearing eleven feet.

Also winning two individual events was Kyara Girvan who took the 100 (14.4) and 200 (20.9). Gabby Weaver won the 100 hurdles (18.4) and Phylicia Hockman won the 800 (2:49.1).

The Lady Cats won two of three relays. Hockman, Ali Troese, Gabriella Fleming and Grace Matson won the 4×800 (12:04.4). Troese, Weaver, Hockman and Julia Hullinger combined to win the 4×100 (4:45)

Thursday’s (May 3rd) meet with Karns City was postponed. Clarion will host North Clarion on Tuesday (May 8th) and will compete in the Redbank Valley invitational on Thursday (May 10th).
