The day will conclude with an old time baseball game between the Potter Pirates and local Clarion players.

The Potter Pirates Summer Baseball Tour’s day, at Clarion, will include community service in the morning, a talk by local Veteran Dave Hartley, a workshop with the 537 Learning Center, the clinic, and the baseball game.

This is the second year of Clarion’s involvement in the tour and there are several area players on the tour: Noah DiTullio from Clarion, who is tour captain, Gary Matus from Shippenville, Seth Apel from Knox, Espen Bonfardine from Summerville and Lee Beary from Oil City.

The Tour will return to the area on Monday, July 16th. They will do community service and clinics for Rimersburg/Sligo (contact is Scott Kindel) and Parker (contact is Tom Cooper). There will be a game at Parker at 6:00PM.

Clarion’s Potter Summer Baseball Tour Director, Scott DiTullio described the Potter Baseball Tour this way, “Coach Jeff Potter, puts a team together of 24 boys to do a summer tour for 31 days on the road, doing community service along with the baseball. The basic idea is learning from life lessons and giving back – based upon four tenants: RESPECT, HARD WORK, SELFLESSNESS, AND PASSION.  Check out Coach Potter’s website at: jeffpotterbaseball.com

DiTullio said, “I hope that Clarion and surrounding communities will come out to support this great opportunity. Let’s show the Potter Baseball Tour what baseball is like in Clarion County!!!!! Let’s fill the fields with players and then enjoy some baseball under the lights watching the older kids play!!”
